AIPP seeks Assetz backed security
STUART LAW, chief executive of
the Assetz group of property investment and development companies, has been elected to the board of the Association of International Property Professionals (AIPP.) “I am delighted to have been voted
onto the AIPP board and look forward to helping steer the organisation,” says Law. “Buyers are increasingly turning to the international property market so our work has never been more important, protecting and giving a voice to consumers as well as those within the industry,” he added. The AIPP’s raison d’etre is to improve standards of professionalism in international property, with member companies signing up to a voluntary code of conduct designed to give consumers greater confi dence. Existing board members include A Place in the Sun’s Andy Bridge. AIPP chief executive Mark Sharp
says: “It’s key that industry leaders drive forward this initiative to create a better and safer marketplace, and we’re very pleased to welcome Stuart to the board.”

Harrington weaves in
Chris Harrington has been promoted to oversee two Rocky Mountain resorts in Park City, Utah. He is now general manager of both Tapestry Resorts’ timeshare rental programme at Shadow Ridge con- dominium resort, and of The Lodge at Stillwater, managed by LaTour Hotels and Resorts. At Stillwater, he will be responsible for growth, rev- enue generation and cost control. Harrington has worked with both companies since 2004 and has 15 years experience of the hospital- ity and holiday ownership market. Previously general manager of Tapestry’s Kona Reef Resort in Kona, Hawaii, he was also the group’s US east coast operations and director of travel services at its members- only Travel Escapes Club.
Crabtree for REI
WEST MIDLANDS-BASED property group Real Estate Investors has made John Crabtree its non- executive chairman. A lawyer by training, Crabtree’s
most recent roles were as chairman of both Metalrax Group and Claimar Care Group. He replaces Peter Lewin, who will remain on the board as a non- exec director.
