NEWS Virgin Megastores revamps its games offering by investing £250,000 in space. The firm’s Bart Saunt admitted that POS for certain formats hadn’t been changed in six years. Oops... LEGO announces it will set up a deal that will see the company recognised as the publisher for any LEGO-branded games...


Disney announces its first original title: Ultimate Ridefor the PC. The game will be based on the company’s Imagineering division and allows gamers to create their own rollercoasters... Nintendo admits GameCube’s launch in Japan was quieter than expected but is still rather chuffed with itself for shifting 300,000 units in the console’s opening weekend... Barry Hatch returns to the games industry at the head of new publisher Digital Worldwide, which is already gunning for the European distribution rights for GTA III.
