ELSPA makes Collins commercial manager Midas man joins trade body Best Buy Europe names COO LocalizeDirect expands Jagex hires Lorenze
ELSPA SAM COLLINS has joined the UK trade organisation as its new commercial manager. In this role, he will look after the interests of existing ELSPA members, while encouraging other games companies to join forces with the trade body. He will also assist with ELSPA’s transition to becoming UKIE.
Collins has previously held key sales positions at a number of publishers.
He began his career back in 1998 as an account manager at Virgin Interactive. He moved on to become head of sales at Midas and took up similar

WOOD will be joining ELSPA in August as public affairs and communications manager.
BEST BUY The retailer’s European arm has appointed Carphone Warehouse
CEO ANDREW HARRISON as its chief operating officer. Harrison will continue his duties at Carphone Warehouse while driving Best Buy Europe’s strategy and customer offering. “Andrew has consistently proven himself ahead of the curve in anticipating the needs of technology-hungry customers and shaping retail propositions,” said Best Buy Europe CEO SCOTT WHEWAY.

LOCALIZEDIRECT MICHAEL SOUTO has been named business
development director at localisation tool developer LocalizeDirect.
Souto boasts 15 years of games industry experience, and will be responsible for developing new and existing relationships with the company’s partners. “Michael has gone through localisation so many times from both a publisher and developer perspective, so he knows the pain experienced first-hand,”

JAGEX The independent UK developer and publisher has hired
PETER LORENZ.
He takes up the newly- created role of head of business development as the company seeks to expand its player base and connect with other up-and- coming developers. Lorenze said: “I’m very excited to join Jagex. All of their games provide exceptional growth potential that I’m looking forward to developing in my new role.”
