Dulux Decorator Centres has announced an expansion of its customer support team under the management of head of business development, Nigel Keegan.
Dulux expands customer support
“Dulux Decorator Centres has continued to steadily win new business over the last year,” explained Nigel Keegan. “This has been both in terms of the number of new wins and also because we have been involved in a number of very large, high-value projects. We are continuing to see customer demand and are offering new services, and – to further improve service levels – we have also increased the size of the support team by five.
“We’ve seen strong growth in the public sector over the past year, with our Dulux Decorator Centre Tenant Voucher Scheme having been particularly successful.”
The Dulux Decorator Centre Tenant Voucher Scheme is led by Lisa Brumwell, who has bolstered her team recently by three - Jamie Hyde, Customer Support Manager, Fran McAulay, Telemarketing Development Manager and Sally Miles, Customer Support Manager. Jamie and Fran are both familiar faces at Dulux Decorator Centres – Jamie has been with the company for 5 years and joined from his previous role as a store manager, while Fran brings a wealth of experience having worked for the company in a number of roles since 2000. Sally joins Dulux Decorator Centres from J & S Seddon where she worked as a tenant liaison officer for 3.5 years.
Dulux Decorator Centres Tenant Voucher scheme focuses on local authority and housing association refurbishment schemes, and provides a managed programme with full auditability and reporting. It allows social housing refurbishment projects to be delivered under complete control, but with the minimum of administration and overheads. Housing associations and landlords give their tenants vouchers up to a set value to be redeemed in Dulux Decorator Centres stores – or the newly launched paint packs. Invoices are then issued against the redeemed vouchers.
Involved in some of the most interesting construction projects in Britain – including the building of the new Westfield Shopping Centre in Stratford, where a ‘mobile Dulux Decorator Centre’ has been sited – Dulux Decorator Centres has also increased its telesales team with a new supervisor role and two further telesales representative positions. This is largely due to the success of the Priority Order Line, which is an inbound ordering facility that guarantees (free of charge) same or next-day delivery for customers anywhere in the UK.

Worker of the Year
Dickies’ nationwide UK Worker of the Year “good news initiative” has just moved into its next phase, with the official launch of the first of its monthly “People’s Choice” - worker of the month competitions.
Everyone who has been nominated for UK Worker of the Year in the previous month is now eligible for the new ‘People’s Choice’ prize, which will be given to the person who polls the most votes during the following month. Dickies UK Sales and Marketing Director, Maurice Morton explains, “Basically, it’s a bit of fun that adds an extra dimension to the whole ‘UK Worker of the Year’ concept. Anyone who goes to the website can look through the previous month’s nominees and can vote for whoever they feel is the most worthy. The person with the most votes at the end of the following month will become our People’s Choice worker of the month and will win a whole load of Dickies clothing. In addition, we will feature them in local and relevant trade press material.” Dickies launched the UK Worker of the Year initiative on April 29th and at the end of the first month were extremely happy with the progress made.
“Interest in the scheme is growing all
Polypipe Terrain displays new products in uniquely British style
The home of English rugby has hosted the first in what promises to be a highly successful series of roadshows designed to showcase the latest additions to Polypipe Terrain’s product range. News of the products was followed by positive feedback and lively debate that set the mood for the other Roadshows which have been arranged for various UK venues over the coming months.
An invited audience of architects, consultants, distributors and contractors attended the ‘Uniquely British, Uniquely Terrain’ event at Twickenham Stadium. They were given the first opportunity to examine Terrain Fuze – the company’s updated and expanded HDPE product range – and the new Terrain Firetrap range which delivers unique fire protection for Terrain above-ground plastic drainage systems.
“It was excellent to see so many people at the Roadshow especially as they really got involved with the event.” comments Sales and Marketing Director Adam Turk. “Fuze and Firetrap are important steps forward for Polypipe Terrain. They have been developed to meet the specific needs of our customers in the UK and so taking these products out to our customers was the obvious thing to do. We received an excellent reaction with some extremely positive feedback and a real sense that the audience had found the event to be beneficial to them.” Guests also heard the latest details on Terrain’s Rainstream range of rainwater recycling solutions and its Hydromax Siphonic Drainage system. The Roadshow also gave guests the opportunity to see the England senior rugby team in action during a training session and to enjoy a backstage tour of the famous stadium itself.
Other Roadshows will be taking place at various uniquely British locations around the country and places can be reserved in advance. For more information please visit

a good response in terms of entries and coverage,” continues Maurice Morton. “Some of those nominated are already putting a huge amount of effort into campaigns to become People’s Choice, using social websites and networking opportunities to great effect – so it’s up to everyone nominated to spread the word and get people voting for them!” As nominations for Dickies UK Worker of the Year are open until 31st August, the People’s Choice monthly competitions will run during June, July August and September, with the winners announced at the beginning of the following months. The finalists for the main, UK Worker of the Year competition will be chosen by a panel of expert judges after August 31st – with the winners being announced at “The Dickies” gala awards night at Pinewood Studios on October 29th.
