LINPAC launch colour coded doors on Maxi Envirobin

LINPAC Environmental is extending customer choice by introducing colour coded doors as an option on the Maxi Envirobin range.

The company extensively use WRAP compliant recycling colours on product apertures and with this development these

attractive colours can now feature on the door as well to provide an alternative and very contemporary appearance to the existing Maxi Envirobin.

The new SALTO XS4-Locker is a locker lock designed to bring all the advantages of electronic access control to the locker room.

Locker security gets smart

Most lockers are supplied with very basic mechanical locks and offer little in the way of resistance to thieves. XS4- Locker solves this problem by offering the latest in state-of-the-art electronic access control technology in a low cost simple retro-fit format. Upgrading from an existing

mechanical lock is quick and easy. The old lock is removed and the XS4-Locker simply fitted in its place. No wiring is required, power is supplied by 3 AAA or optional lithium batteries good for 30,000 openings, and its exterior dimensions are a compact 54mm x 105mm x 28mm ensuring a neat fit and professional appearance.

An ergonomically designed twist operated locking handle makes for easy use, even with wet hands, and its durable wipe clean construction makes it highly resistant to chemicals; UV radiation and physical wear and tear ensuring a long lasting, smart appearance.

The access reader is built into the locking handle and the ID carrier - key card, wristband, key fob or bracelet – is simply presented to the reader and XS4 Locker will grant or deny access. A family option allows for multiple ID carriers to operate a single locker and its built-in audit trail facility automatically records the last 1,000 operations. Building & Facilities Management – July 2010

Commenting on the move General Manager, Paul Black said: ”The Maxi Envirobin is proving popular in high footfall areas and in areas close to drinks machines and food kiosks. We believe that the new look, coloured doors, will appeal to schools, colleges and universities in particular. They certainly generated a lot a positive comment at the launch at Futuresource 2010”. ‘Quick-install’ TMV

Douglas Delabie has introduced the ES L Pattern TMV (thermostatic mixing valve). The company says this anti-scald TMV device is up to 40% quicker to install. It’s designed for use with wash hand basins, showers and bidets in higher risk and healthcare applications.

“Annually, around 600 people suffer severe bath scald scalds. 75% of these are children. Daily, a child under five with serious scalding hot bath water injuries is admitted to hospital. While, each year some 15 pensioners die from bath water burns,” says Bob Purdom, Douglas Delabie’s commercial director.

“But, scaldings are wholly avoidable by installing a TMV. This simple, effective anti-scald solution can be quickly, and easily, installed to new and refurbished homes,” he continues.

“The TMV enables bath tap water temperature to be set to a maximum temperature pf 44-46°C. This would allow everyone to safely have a hot bath whilst minimising scalding risk.”

BuildCert TMV3 Scheme approved, and independently tested and certified to NHS Estates DO8 specification, the ES TMV is ideal for reducing temperatures in any situation where normal hot water at 60°C may accidentally scald and cause burns. The device can be installed in-line to simplify and reduce fitting time. With its unique ‘L’ pattern and minimal joints. it’s appropriate for retrofit work. Its use in showers, basins, bidets and baths ensures washing safety in schools, sports centres, factories, prisons and

commercial buildings.

Providing precise, stable hot water temperature controls, the anti-scald temperature is set under the cap with an Allen key (but for total safety a cold water failsafe check must be carried out by the installer on fitting’s completion).
