George Yousef Shehadeh, 86, died at his home in Springfield, Virginia on June 29, 2010. George Shehadeh began working for the United States government in 1957 while living in Beirut, Lebanon.Before relocating to the United States in 1977, he worked as Press Attaché for the American Embassy in Beirut. In Washington, DC, he held the title of Supervisory Editor at the United States Information Agency and was the linchpin of the Arabic translation section of the Near Eastern Wireless File, responsible for hiring the translators and for nurturing their skills. George Shehadeh retired on March 31, 1995 after 37-1/2 years of service both overseas and in Washington DC. Beloved husband of 59 years to Mary Haddad She- hadeh. He is survived by two sons, Joe and Waleed and a daughter, Mona. He will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather as well as a loyal friend to everyone who knew him. MARLENEANN EAGLEBURGER (nee Heinemann)


Marlene Ann Eagleburger, (nee Heinemann), retired member of the foreign service, Pres- ident of THERA Cell Equine products and wife of Former Secretary of State Lawrence S. Eagleburger passed away on Monday, evening, June 28, 2010 surrounded by her family in Charlottesville, Virginia.


Born in Chicago, Illinois, to George and Anna (nee. Linge) Heinemann Mrs. Eagleburger and her siblings Millie and George were instilled with a great respect for hard work and education. Mrs. Eagleburger attended H. Sophie Newcomb Memorial College in New Orleans and joined the U.S. Foreign Service in 1962. Her first assignment was in Belgrade Yugoslavia where she met her future husband of 45 years.


The Eagleburgers loved to share the story of how they had met in Belgrade while they were both foreign service officers. Marlene would comment to her friends that the ener- getic Eagleburger looked like an undertaker in a rush as he always wore a dark suit and insisted on taking the stairs. For many

Always keeping close to her love of horses and their wellbeing Mrs. Eagleburger was a passionate animal lover.


Mrs. Eagleburger is survived by her sons Andrew and Jason (Sarah), her stepson Scott (Linda), her sister Millie and brother George. He served as Director of Emer- gency Planning and Mobilization, Office of the Secretary of Defense from 1986 until 1992


Active in the community, he served as Presi- dent of the Belle Haven Citizens Association in 1976 and was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and member of Belle Haven Country Club. He was involved with the Heritage Foundation in Washington, DC and published many editorial pieces in the newspaper. He enjoyed antiques and kept two small shops in Delaware.

On Saturday, June 26, 2010, passed away at his home in Lewes, DE due to complications from stomach cancer at the age of 83. He was a former longtime resident of Alexandria, VA since 1971.


Born on July 4, 1926 in St. Louis, MO. Mr. Muckerman graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1949 and served our country admirably in various assignments including Japan, Oklahoma, Panama, Viet- nam, Key West, FL, and Washington, DC before retiring in 1979. During his military career, he served on the faculty of the Army War College; Commander of the 13th Artillery Group at Ft. MacArthur; Deputy Head, Strat- egy and Forces Division, Office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; and Director, Defense Pro- grams Department of the National Defense University. Born in Grafton, WV, he began his military career by enlisting as a private in the Army. He graduated from the United States Military Academy, Air Force Institute of Technology and the Armed Forces Staff College. In conjunction with his master’s studies, he was the recipient of the Marvin E. Gross and the Wall Street Journals Awards presented annually to the top graduate. His military decorations and awards include the Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit with oak leaf cluster, Air Force Commendation Medal and Army Commendation Medal. He was named Engineer of the Year for 1979 by the San Fernando Valley Engineers Council. In 2008, he received the Air Force Institute of Technology’s Distinguished Alumni.

Bob received a Bachelor’s degree in 2002 after starting his college career fifty years earlier. He and Peggie retired and moved to Mount Dora, FL and have been members of Faith Lutheran Church in Eustis, Florida.


Bob is survived by his wife, Peggie; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Lorraine Wood- ward of Raleigh, NC; brother, Richard McCart- ney of Quincy, IL; sister, Marilynn Leon of Potomac, MD; and grandsons Nathan and AlexanderWoodward.


ROBERT BLAIRWOODWARD


Robert BlairWoodward, 81, of Mount Dora, FL passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2010. He was born on November 16, 1928 in Cleveland, OH.


Mr. Woodward proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and as a veteran of WorldWar II. His mostmemorable experience with the marines was escorting the war dead returning fromWorldWar II.


He spent his career in Fairfax, Virginia, as an association executive, during which he developed a specialty as a construction safety


Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2010 followed by funeral service at 11 a.m., both at Faith Lutheran Church in Eustis, FL., followed by Internment at Pine Forest Cemetery in Mount Dora, FL.

Dr. Alan John Delhomme, DO, FAAPMR, FAANEM, FAADEP, DABPM, CIME, a devoted husband and father, died suddenly and unexpectedly on June 27, 2010 at his home in La Plata, MD. He was born on May 3, 1945 in Baltimore, MD, and was the only child of the late John A. and Eleanor Delhomme. He graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1992 after completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland at College Park. He practiced medicine with NeuroDiagnostic Associates of Maryland in Bel Air, MD and retired in 2007. He also practiced


medicine as a physiatrist with Southern Maryland Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine in Waldorf and Leonardtown, MD. Prior to his medical career, he was a percussionist in the "President’s Own" United States Marine Band. He was a musician in many Washington, DC area bands, and a Private Flight Instructor at Hyde Field in Clinton, MD. As a young man, he served in the U.S. Navy, stationed at Patuxent Naval Air Station. He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Therese; son and daughter-in-law, David Delhomme and Kenya Hathaway of Los Angeles, CA; son and daughter-in- law, John and Mindy Delhomme of Spokane, WA; daughter and son-in-law, Monique and John Botkin of Silver Spring, MD; grandchildren: Sunshine, Bryony, Hanna, Chloe, Zachary, Tessa, Abby, and Ryan. Alan was passionate for family, music, physics, palm trees, the ocean, the beach, and the sun. He was generous, kind, and encouraging, and had a special place in his heart for Southern California. He will be very dearly missed by his family, friends, and loved ones.


Services will be held at Raymond Funeral Service, 5635Washington Ave., La Plata, MD 20646.


Visitation: Thursday, July 1, 2010 from 5 to 8 p.m.


Funeral service: Friday, July 2, 2010 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton, MD.
