New panic hardware solves safety and security problem

S

aving lives in the event of a fire or emergency depends on providing users with a quick and hassle-free way out, with building security often an afterthought.

A UK first, ASSA has launched the ASSURE 1520 – the only escape device to feature a steel deadbolt for maximum security when the premises are not in use. The ASSURE 1520 is a high-security, cost-effective solution which includes a push bar or push pad, plus an ASSA Modular 1520 escape sash lock with deadbolt.

For added flexibility, it can transform an escape route into a standard walkthrough at selected times of the day by incorporating a lever handle to the exterior of a door.

The ASSURE range of high security panic hardware includes a selection of push bars, push pads and locking systems conforming to either BSEN 1125 (2008) or BSEN 179 (2008), and offers practical security solutions for either panic escape routes – applicable to public buildings with high user traffic – or emergency escape exits, such as office buildings and staff areas. Also included is a number of multi-point escape devices, offering a higher level of security. Two, three and five-point locking systems are available to suit single or double doors in cases where the utmost security is required.

The ASSURE range and ASSA products are available from the UK operating company, ASSA ABLOY Door Solutions, and nationwide via ASSA Security Centres – a network of professional locksmiths and security installation companies.
