Hillhead highlights

Recognising increased interest from both tool and plant hirers in Hillhead - especially in a year with no SED - EHN breaks new ground by previewing the event billed as the world’s biggest working exhibition of quarrying and recycling equipment, being held on 22-24 June in Buxton.

Expanded ArcGen Hilta line-up

Over the last two years, ArcGen Hilta has extended its power generation and site equipment product range to address the needs of the quarrying industry, and examples from its line-up of pumps, lighting towers and generators will be displayed. The full range of BBA diesel centrifugal pumps and submersibles will be shown, ranging from a 2in residue pump to a high-head discharge model of 8in capable of dealing with solid content. Towable, super- silent units for de-watering from 3-12in will be displayed, offering solids handling capabilities of over 4in. For deep quarrying operations, high-head, high-flow units with heads of 18bar at flows of over 600m3

Westquay to launch mini trencher

Westquay Trading, the UK dealer for Tesmec equipment, will unveil a new compact trencher targeted at hirers of specialist machinery for utilities and highway work. The TRS300 weighs 9500kg, measures 180cm wide by 285cm high and incorporates a remote control system. Productivity rates of up to 2.8km/hour are said to be achievable. Trenching

/hour can be supplied fully canopied and super- silent, or as open sets. Arc Gen Hilta will

introduce two new Denyo generators with 200 and 400kVA capabilities, designed for low fuel

consumption and durability. They join existing models from 6kVA upwards. Also shown will be the Vertitower lighting tower, which has a 360° rotating lamp head with a telescopic mast, and a built-in drum for convenient storage of the power cable. Environment friendly features include a bunded tray and remote oil drain.

50

attachments of various sizes can be fitted, and can be offset by up to 60cm on either side to avoid obstacles. Variable tilt tracks enable the machine to accommodate gradients and pavements, and a water tank can be fitted to minimise dust. Westquay is also a Takeuchi distributor and the stand display will include a TL250 tracked loader with an excavating wheel for narrow trench cutting.
