Step 11 - With my initial brush made and in my ”Brushes” pallet, I use my pen tool to draw a line, I could use the line tool, the pencil took or the brush to do this same task.. The arrow next to my path shows you the direction I drew it, that direction will determine how the brush stroke is ap- plied, you’ll see what I mean in the next step or two.
Step 12 - Here you will see the line I drew with the “Brush” applied. Notice that the pointy end of the teardrop is point- ing down. That’s the same direction I drew it in, and the same direction we chose in the “Brushes” pallet options when we made our brush. If I had drawn my line going from bottom to top the point end would be at the top instead of the bottom. That light blue line in the middle of the tear- drop just shows you the path or line I drew, it only shows up when I have the line selected.
Step 13 - Here I have lengthened the line I drew with the “Brush” applied, as you can see, this stretches out the “Brush” to match the length of the line, It will also match the shape of the line, so if I draw a squiggly line or a spiral or something the brush will automatically redraw itself to match the line shape.
Step 14 - With the first line stretched ‘til I’m happy with it, I now draw a second line on top of the first one I drew. This second line is white, because I chose “Tints” in my options when I made my brush it lets me control the color for each individual use of the brush. I have reduced the “weight” or thickness of my stroke or path. This will make my applied “Brush” smaller too. If I make the line weight 0.5pt in thickness, it will make the brush half as thick as the origi- nal brush. Like the color I can alter this on each individual stroke with this brush.
Step 15 - Here I’ve added a couple more small white lines and re- duced their line weight or thickness too. I then applied the brush to those lines.
