The new I-35W bridge project sets new model for use of sustainable features
They planned a replacement bridge that would become a model for the future. The collapse of Minneapolis’ I-35W bridge span during rush hour on Aug. 1, 2007, killed 13, injured 145 and horrifi ed countless others throughout the city and the nation. But the public infrastructure effort that ensued was a marvel of organization, as Flatiron-Manson, JV, Figg Bridge Engineers, Inc., (FIGG) and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) got to work.
