The site shows you how to interpret the runway trends into real life style solutions and recommends where to get the look from websites and from the high street, in all price ranges.
Jen Hunter, winner of the first ever ‘Make me a Supermodel’ reality show has joined forces with Sarah to launch the Real Style Awards.
Jen, now a successful plus size model, is a great champion for the competition and the website.
Like Sarah, Jen loves fashion but thinks that it should be accessible to everyone.
SARAH BEVAN FISCHER
Every issue we will be examining an individual whose style we admire; whether that’s their style of management, leadership approach, entrepreneurial genius or indeed fashion sense! This issue; Sarah Bevan Fischer brings us Style File - an online portal, born of a burning desire to get women of all ages and sizes to become the confident and stylish woman that they yearn to be...
Sarah Bevan Fischer started her online style advice business as a hobby. Sarah dreamed up the idea when she was working in fashion retail and constantly meeting women who were frustrated and confused by fashion and lost their confidence to make choices that suited them.
Style File -
www.stylefileworld.com
was born as a result.
The site helps women to understand their own natural style preferences by profiling their type through an online questionnaire. Once women are aware of their style type the site filters the latest trends making it much easier to choose the styles that you really like.
Style File also gives lots of helpful hints and tips on how to update your look without spending a fortune, or where to splash the cash!
To illustrate how different trends can work for different women, Sarah is launching the Real Style Awards, aiming to build up a community of real women and the way that they look.
We want women to upload their pictures to the site when they are feeling confident about the way that they are looking so that other women can see what other real women wear and see what their style solutions are.
“ ”
Sarah is concerned about the unrealistic expectations that women put on themselves all the time because of the high exposure of celebrities and models who are all young, slim and beautiful.
The online style community will give women style ideas from other women who have developed a style that works for them at their age and size.
Because of the nature of the web there are women from all over the world dipping into Style File for hints and tips on getting the best look for your style type, lifestyle, size, age and budget.
Ultimately the competition is to find style ambassadors for the site - women who have developed their own look and can act as style leaders for the brand.
There are also some great prizes up for grabs - how do you fancy winning a Prada bag, girls? Or a Gucci one!
There are also ‘money can’t buy’ opportunities available including tickets to a top designer show at London fashion week in 2011.
As Jen sums up the Style File experience: “It’s a question of finding what you look good in and feel comfortable with which will give you the confidence to strut your stuff knowing that you look fabulous!
“Girls, get uploading your pictures and win those fabulous prizes”.
