Papadopoulos works on trademark litigation and prosecution, while dealing with advertising complaints and licensing matters.

Rabson, who will be based in the fi rm’s Palo Alto offi ce, previously worked at Wilson Sonsini as partner, primarily in the fi elds of life sciences and material sciences. He rejoins the fi rm from Cytokinetics, where he was general counsel.

In his new role, Rabson will advise life sciences and clean technology clients, providing them with patent counselling and representation.

Earlier in his career, Rabson was a patent examiner at the US Patent and Trademark Offi ce.

Wiggin & Dana hires in New York

Joseph Saphia has joined Wiggin & Dana LLP as partner.

Residing in the fi rm’s New York offi ce, Saphia will work on patent litigation, licensing and counselling. He moves from Lovells to join Wiggin & Dana, where he was counsel.

Saphia, who has a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, is a patent litigator responsible for cases involving medical devices, cosmetic products, electrical devices and avionics equipment.

He also provides counselling on various technologies. T ese include chemical compounds, pharmaceutical formulations and biological products.

“Joe has extensive experience representing clients in the life sciences and other industries on important and high-profi le matters,” said Jack Dunham, a partner and chair of Wiggin & Dana’s litigation department. “He adds signifi cant breadth and depth to our practice.”

SteinhauserRijsdijk partners with Arnold + Siedsma

Dutch IP fi rm SteinhauserRijsdijk Advocaten has merged with Arnold + Siedsma, a patent and trademark fi rm.

SteinhauserRijsdijk has adopted Arnold + Siedsma’s name and is now based in its Amsterdam offi ce.

Fish & Richardson hires Sullivan from Darby & Darby

Managing principal Robert Sullivan has leſt Darby & Darby, which has announced plans to dissolve in March, to join Fish & Richardson.

Sullivan will be of counsel in Fish & Richardson’s New York offi ce. Other Darby & Darby attorneys are also expected to make the move.

Sullivan is an experienced patent litigator and prosecutor in the fi elds of biotechnology, chemistry and pharmaceuticals.

Rabson returns to Wilson Sonsini

Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati has welcomed back Michael Rabson as partner.
