Greenberg Traurig for Mason
Greenberg Traurig LLP has made Dwayne Mason shareholder and head of the IP litigation group in Texas.
Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig, Mason was global practice manager of the IP practice at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP.
Mason helps companies to protect and commercialise intellectual property. He concentrates on pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, process control and chemical processing.
He has litigated in domestic and international arbitration proceedings before the American Arbitration Association and the International Chamber of Commerce.

Reshuffle at McAndrews
McAndrews, Held & Malloy has completed an internal reshuffle, resulting in nine attorneys taking more senior roles within the firm.
John Abramic, David Petty, Sara Bartos, Hopeton Walker and Michael Fitzpatrick have all moved up to the board of directors. Te attorneys have experience in all areas of intellectual property litigation, including patent, copyright and trademark. Tey have worked across a span of technologies, including wired and wireless communications systems, pharmaceuticals, electronic dart games, lighting controls and surgical gowns.
New of counsel at Fenwick & West
David Tellekson has joined Fenwick & West LLP to lead the firm’s IP litigation practice in Seattle.
Tellekson was previously managing principal at Darby & Darby. He has worked with life sciences companies such as Novozymes, Cardiac Science, Oxford Biomedica, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals and 3M.
Tellekson is a writer and lecturer in areas of patent law and litigation.

Rouse China promotes and hires
Rouse China has strengthened its intellectual property team with two promotions and a new recruit.
Linda Chang and Tim Smith have been promoted to country manager for China and executive, respectively.
Wragge promotes Bayer
Dr Alexander Bayer has been promoted to partner in the Munich office of Wragge & Co LLP, effective May 1.

Day in 2008. His practice focuses on contentious and non-contentious work with brands, design rights, competition, copyright, and the IT aspects of data protection law.

Smith joined Rouse in 2008 from the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry, where he was senior legal advisor. He will be based in Rouse’s Beijing office, overseeing the firm’s Asia litigation group.

A mix of patent prosecutors and litigators, their diverse prosecution and litigation experience has concerned medical, mechanical and electrical technologies, as well as trademarks, unfair competition suits and secret trade deals.

Law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP has added three patent litigators to its ranks.
James Elacqua and Andrew Tomases will join the firm’s Palo Alto office as partners, while Jonathan Baker is to be of counsel.
Elacqua and Tomases are litigators who work with life science and technology companies. Te partnership earned a $57 million damages award for On behalf of Medtronic in 2009.
Baker has been responsible for patent litigation cases for companies such as Acer, Creative and TiVo.
Skadden executive partner Eric Friedman said: “We are thrilled to welcome such high-calibre patent litigators to our global litigation practice.”
He is a member of the German Association for Intellectual Property and Copyright Law and the International Trademark Association.
