The Kensington Shoe Event, March 21-23
I
f you can only afford to attend one footwear show
this season, then consider The Kensington Shoe
Event. Popular with discerning footwear and
fashion buyers, situated right in the heart of
London, the Event has become the leading UK show
for medium-to-high quality footwear. Held twice yearly,
towards the end of March and September, at the
Kensington Close Hotel, London W8, the compact
show is well worth a visit.
Ranges at Kensington are made in the very best
factories in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Austria and
Germany, and the show now holds footwear and
accessory collections across age groups, with some
fantastic new styles to please all those who attend.
The idea for this Event is to retain a varied mix of
medium to high grade products that suits the target
buyer who visits the show, namely boutique and
independents, who are not fond of the bustle and
crowds of the larger international exhibition.
Renato De Angelis, exhibitor and organiser,
explained: "With the larger footwear shows it is often
difficult for visitors to locate the brands they came for.
It doesn't seem fair to expect our customers to work
harder when there is an alternative."
According to Renato: “Visitors often comment that
they do not need to go elsewhere to find what they are
looking for due to the wide variety of good products
available there. The timing of the Event, just after the
major European shows allows the retailers to have a
clear mind on what to buy in a relaxed and informal
environment.”
Martin Ward, also exhibitor and co-organizer,
outlined the strengths that benefit both exhibitors and
visitors. "I think it's important that people understand
that this event is organised by Renato and myself,
coming from the point of view of agents, rather than
event organisers, in terms of our experience. This in
turn means that we can understand better the needs
of our colleagues and the trade as whole. We are
trying to offer the best setting for the business we are
in, and we want to maintain a suitable ambience where
visitors feel they can view the products at a
comfortable pace, and establish a relationship with the
exhibitors which will benefit both."
The forthcoming Kensington Shoe Event will be held
from March 21st to 23rd 2010, and hopes to echo its
past successes as an event with a high level of quality
brands, in a comfortable setting for buyers to browse
at their own pace and leisure. Entry to the show is
free, and visitors can enjoy refreshments throughout
the day free of charge. Exhibitors and visitors can also
