KORS announces
Retail Expedition
Award winners
The Kendal Outdoor Retail Show (KORS) has announced the first winners of
its KORS Retail Expedition Award, an annual award supporting outstanding
expeditions involving outdoor retail staff.
Ian Almond and Mike Wilson who work at Lakes Climber in Ambleside
travel to Patagonia in late January with objectives on Fitzroy, Cerro Torre
and Ag Poincenot. They win a cash sum of £2,500 plus equipment to the
value of £2,500 from KORS exhibitors including brands such as Beal, Petzl,
DMM, Rab, Terra Nova, MSR, Black Diamond and La Sportiva.
“This is a direct way in which KORS is putting something back into the
outdoor retail community and supporting the specialist outdoor retailer,”
says Clive Allen from KORS. “Enthusiastic, experienced and motivated staff
are vitally important to specialist outdoor retailers.”
