What Can I Do? continued
Ask About Bladder Retraining
Bladder retraining works to stretch out the amount of time you take between bathroom visits. Trough retraining, you learn to resist the urge to go and increase your control over how much urine your bladder can hold. Ask your doctor about setting up a bladder retraining schedule for you.
Practice Good Bathroom Habits
Go to the bathroom every 2½ to 3½ hours.
Wear clothes that are easy to remove when you have to go fast. Urinate before and after sex. Always wipe front to back. Practice double voiding.
What does double voiding mean? It means after you go, stand up or shift your position and try going again. This helps make sure all of the urine gets out of your bladder.
