Strengthen the Right Muscles
Kegel exercises can strengthen the muscles that help you hold back urine. This is a behavior therapy that can help increase your bladder control and prevent leaks.
How to Do Kegels
1. Find the right muscles (the ones you use when you try to stop the flow of urine).
2. Practice a quick contraction. Quickly tighten, then release. Rest for 10 seconds. Repeat.
3. Practice a slow contraction. Slowly tighten to a count of five. Relax for 10 seconds. Repeat. Build up to 10-second holds.
4. Do a set of 10 exercises, three times a day.
