“The shape of our new main totally
transformed the performance of my
First 45R, particularly in light air.”

Arthur Podesta’s First 45R ELUSIVE 2 won both IRC and ORC Class 3 in another stormy 606-mile Rolex
Middle Sea Race. After battling four days of frequent squalls, ELUSIVE’s crew had to fight their way to the
finish line in a light morning breeze to grab the victory from a Swan 45. This win would not have been
possible without the boat’s improved sail plan created by UK-Halsey
France. UK-Halsey’s experience with the IRC rule struck a balance
between added horsepower and a rating increase. A new Tape-Drive
main, bigger chute and full MatriX Titanium inventory solved the
boat’s “stickiness” in light air. It’s a quality of sails, service and IRC
expertise you can expect at any of UK-Halsey’s 50 lofts worldwide.
