Outremer 49 launched
bring in the younger
The much awaited new OUTREMER 49 was
generation
launched on Monday the 24 th of August at
the Outremer shipyard in La Grande Motte.
The first sea trials of this exciting new
Christophe Barreau design started
immediately.
Powerful, comfortable and designed for
serious blue water cruising, the OUTREMER
49 makes a new chapter in this popular and respected
shipyard’s history under the management of a very efficient
team led by Xavier Desmarest.
This cat has a great pedigree with Christophe Barreau as the
architect and Franck Darnet as the interior designer.
The OUTREMER 49 made its first appearance at the Cannes
Boat Show where it has been well received. Indeed I have
heard several say that it is like sailing the old Catana 471 – an
interesting comment. The prospective owners will all be asking
is it still an Outremer? We shall see, it looks stunning. See our
test on page 22.
