At this point I had originally decided I was done with the illustration, but after a night away I decided
I was not happy with end result. I begin by putting a lot of fine white dagger strokes around the face
to make a fuller look to the fur and enhance the direction of the light source. After that I overhauled
the bottom with a gazillion white dagger strokes over the body. I still left room around so that some
underneath color came through. Then I went back and repeated my earlier steps of misting blues,
violet and brown and lastly came back with some white to create that layered look to the fur. After
all this the painting was finished. The final step is to heat set for color fastness. For this I use a
normal clothes iron and a piece of parchment paper and move the iron very slowly, being careful
not to scorch the fabric; I heat each area for about 2 minutes. The front of the shirt was done in
the exact same way. I hope this how to will help you to get closer to your goal.
