Hello everyone, it’s Paul Shaw from Eagle Eye Artwork , AKA... Glory” painting in my Garage. I took some pics along the way and
Kwit, here with another HOW TO. I replace my outside Flag every hope this helps someone out. Some progress is missing in the
Memorial Day and this year I also decided to replace the old “Old photos but I’ll explain what’s missing, and why.
I usually will lay masking, transfer tape, Sticky Mickey etc...or equivalent down,
draw out the Flag and cut out as I go along. This time I didn’t have as much as I
needed so I went the “Stencil Route”. So first, I printed out a Flag image at 3 foot
X 5 foot in MS Publisher. Total of 30 8x11 sheets and attached them together
with Clear Masking Tape on the front and back.
The wall was painted the day prior with White. It’s always easier when start-
ing with a white base coat. Plus, this allowed me to have the base color when
mistakes were made.
I always start with the Red stripes so I cut those out first.
Next I cut slots in the white strips so that tape could be used to attach it to the
wall holding the white in place when spraying the red. I know I will have under
spray when using this technique but I have the basecoat.
I then mount the Flag stencil to the wall and put additional tape behind the White
Stripes as needed to hold them in place.
I start by laying down an even base of E’TAC Private Stock Pyrrole Red first.
