Diana and Michael Feibelman opened the Jeffrey Michaels & Com-
pany showroom located at the Design Center of the Americas in Dania
Beach, Florida, in 1993. Starting with a 1,900-square-foot showroom,
the Feibelmans quickly gained a reputation as aggressive marketers who
provided excellent customer service and expanded to a 5,500-square-
foot, first-floor showroom with three full-time road representatives. To-
day, Jeffrey Michaels & Company is among the premier representatives
and distributors of decorative fabrics, wall coverings and furniture to the
design trade in Florida.
Diana Feibelman, originally from Philadelphia, holds an education
degree from the University of Miami, and has designed a line of fabric
and wall coverings for children called Make Believe. She recently re-
vealed her top showroom picks to DTM.
Feibelman’s Top Picks
Christian Fischbacher Bamboo Drapery Fabric: Feibelman states,
“Christian Fischbacher is one of my favorite lines because it is elegant
with a twist of playfulness.” The Bamboo Drapery Fabric, constructed of
60 percent polyester and 40 percent viscose, is available in three color-
ways. One of Feibelman’s favorite installations involving this fabric was
the Seven Stars Resort in Providenciales, Turks & Caicos, designed by
MRA in Miami. Feibelman thought the Bamboo Drapery Fabric was a
perfect fit in this room, adding, “This is one of my favorite items because
it is being used in one of my favorite places, Turks & Caicos, and really
expresses the feeling of the place — airy, light, breezy yet elegant.”
The design concept for the Seven Stars Resort revolved around com-
bined tropical and Asian influences. Michael Rosenthal, ASID, of MRA
commented, “The fabric I chose gave me the light, billowy effect I de-
www
sired and the pattern carried out the tropical, Asian feeling.” Rosenthal
believes the curtains look beautiful when drawn back and “are spectacu-

lar when they are in the closed position, covering the doors, and one can
admire the pattern of the bamboo.”
