Describe working with AGS on ACCC- and
Customs-related enforcement.
It was a fantastic introduction to legal practice
which allowed me to take a hands-on
approach regarding highly publicised matters
at the time. Although only a second year student, I was able to undertake
research tasks, draft case summaries and go along to court where the media
was waiting for us. Overall, it was quite a thrilling experience.

I had been involved in charity but wanted to help disadvantaged

people in a sustainable and meaningful way. I therefore decided
to start up SIFE Monash with a friend. Since then, we have helped
prisoners learn vocational skills to get jobs and home businesses increase
the profitability of and expand their businesses, through the establishment
of a community network to teach business skills and offer peer support.
Currently, I am the project director of Imbali, which teaches disadvantaged
teenagers in Australia and South Africa the basic business skills necessary
to set up and run their own successful T-shirt business. SIFE has been an
invaluable ‘2-for-1’ experience in that it has offered me both sustainable Undergraduate Profile
community volunteering and exposure to private sector sponsors.
