he workshop “Nonparametric
Statistics: Refined, Redefined,
and Renewed” was held April
16–17 at The University of Texas at
Arlington. It featured more than 50 par-
ticipants from the United States,
Canada, Mexico, and several countries
in Europe.
Almost 30 presentations were given,
covering a spectrum of topics in nonpara-
metrics, including multivariate depth,
quantiles, and ranks; nonparametric
