fortunately was under cover and wonderfully cooked by a groom who
was celebrating his birthday. Birthdays of course come with cake, so
after delicious varied meats and poultry, washed down with Spanish
Vino, a wonderful selection of cakes was provided by Mahasti to tempt
all palates. Thereafter followed Siesta time which is essential of course.
Sadly rain continued to stop play, but then finally the sun came out and
it was a chance to get on the polo pitch and give it some wellie! Quite
an interesting experience as the ground was rather damp around the
edges, but the ball still flew and overjoyed players were finally sated.
The visit was now nearing its end and it was soon time to fly home
back to reality. No matter what the weather held for us, it was a truly
wonderful visit to Spain. Thanks were heartfelt to the hosts and the Polo
Del Sol colleagues. One could not ask for more.
