30THANNUAL FOOD, FRIENDSAND FELLOWSHIP CHRISTMAS DINNER
RANCHO MIRAGE — Bread of Life will host its 30th annual Food, Friends, and Fellowship Dinner on Christmas Day at the Salvation Army Dick and Beverly Davis Corps Community Center located at 30400 Landau Drive in Cathedral City. Traditional American and Mexican Christmas dinner with all the trimmings will be served from 12 noon to 3 p.m. to the needy as well as those without friends or fellowship on the holiday. Gifts will be presented to children (preschool through eighth grade) who attend with an adult.
Bread of Life will partner with presenting sponsor, The Salvation Army, to host the event at its facility for the fifth consecutive year. “It’s a perfect fit for us and the campus provides a beautiful setting for the good food and warm fellowship we share with all our guests,” said Rev. Deci Connelly, associate pastor of Victory Christian Center and Bread of Life representative.
What makes this event unique is that it is not just for the homeless, but it’s open to anyone in need of food, friends or fellowship. “In a community as diverse as the Coachella Valley, we recognize that there are those in need of a hot meal, but there are many people who simply lack companionship or a place to go on the holiday. This event serves both of these needs,” said Connelly.
One of the largest events on the west side of the valley, each year the Bread of Life serves over 600 meals and gives away an equal number of toys to needy area children. Everyone is invited to share in the joy of the season — enjoy a leisurely meal, listen to holiday carols, spend the afternoon with great company and be sure to invite a friend!
