2. Spin On filters with approval. These filters fulfill all CE and
ABYC requirements, relating to installation in the engine room.
One of the requirements is that the filter can withstand a fire test
of 2.5 minutes.
3. Centrifugal filters with cartridge element. These filter types are
specially developed for engines of up to 5,000 hp and are avail-
able with up to 6 elements, all of which are individually isolatable.
They are supplied with CE, ABYC and SOLAS (IMO) approval and
are therefore suitable for commercial use. In common with the
spin off filters, they also have a transparent bowl which withstands
all stipulated fire tests.
Multiple filter systems are supplied with a vacuum gauge which
advises when the filters are becoming clogged. The standard
filtration is 10 microns for the spin on filters and 30 microns or 10
microns for the centrifugal models.
