At the moment every headline has financial gloom
as the theme. Well there are some green shoots in
the multihull industry at the moment as we report
in various places in the magazine. Our largest
builders, Lagoon and Fountaine Pajot are both
doing well and have renewed confidence following
positive autumn boat shows. With new models
out this year, high levels of production and a very
competitive market there are plenty of price offers
around and good deals to be had.
One positive aspect of the fall in the value of the
UK£ has been a flood of interest in brokerage
boats being sold in UK£. As a result brokers in the
UK have been flooded with enquiries and sales
prompting them to plea for more to be available.
Every cloud has a silver lining!
We tested the Lavezzi 40 at the end of last year.
Launched in 2003 and with over 230 built to date
we had received many requests to test the latest
version. I was surprised by how contemporary
she is and what a good boat she has evolved into
as a result of owner and dealer feedback, factory
improvements and some innovations brought in
from other newer boats in the range.
We followed the ARC with great interest this
year as one of the home builds we have followed
