Incantation
At the base of the flower is the Hebrew word “know!”—from
the phrase "know before Whom you stand," seen in synagogues
worldwide. Thus it asserts divinity squarely in the gush of life.
This word is pregnant with other forms of knowing. It is also the root
word for the forbidden Tree of Knowledge, as well as for sexuality itself
(“and Adam ‘knew’ Eve”).
Opposite the flower, a black cloud undulates and hovers above
the prayer that asks God to spread His wings of protection over us.
The cloud drips on Satan’s name.
