Begonias
Growing Begonias indoors is a great way to bring color into your home
during the cold weather months. Begonias are prized for their flowers as
well as their showy leaves. When they are not in bloom their bold, waxy
green or chocolate colored leaves show them off.
•
Begonias should be located in a bright spot and given direct sunlight and prefer
garden
temperatures near 55 degrees. Early morning sun works very well for Begonias.
•
Water Begonias thoroughly, allowing the soil to dry before the next watering.
•
Provide a high humidity around the plant by standing it on a tray of moist pebbles and
mist around it frequently. A dry atmosphere will result in the buds dropping off and
brown tips forming on the leaves.
•
Begonias like attention. Remove dead flowers, leaves, and stems. Trim off long stems
to help retain its compact shape.

•
A little care will bring a lot of lush foliage and blossoms to your Begonias.
Relatively pest free, this plant is easy to propagate
and is an inexpensive way to bring continuous color
to an indoor garden.
