Winter 2009
Baby it’s Cold Outside
This chilly time of year lends it self to soups and stews simmering away. Try my White Turkey Chili,
pg.15. Oh, I’ll be preparing it on Live with Regis & Kelly, Friday January 30th. Be sure to watch.
While your soups and stews are simmering it’s very important to remember to increase your physical
activity during this time of year when we are taking in far less sunlight and need to supplement our
good spirit energy source and get those endorphins working. Bundle up and take a simple brisk walk
or add ten extra minutes on the treadmill and you will immediately feel the benefits from an increase
in energy and be mentally uplifted.
In addition to the obvious holidays such as President’s Week, one of my favorite, well, unofficial
holidays takes place on February 2, 2009, GH DAY. No, not George Hirsch DAY, Ground-Hog Day.
Millions await the weather prediction from Punxsutawney Phil. He’ll indicate just how much longer
winter will be. Another good reason to celebrate. Make an evening of this non-official holiday event by
watching Groundhog Day with Bill Murray. A fun movie. It is so true how we all can play the same
story over and over again in our heads.
You’ll see in this issue, we’ve added some new features to the eMagazine. A new look and expanding
our contributing editors. You will see more great features each and every issue in this coming year...
As we move into 2009 I ask you to keep emailing the eMagazine to friends. Be sure you sign up for
my new You Can Do it! Daily Messages delivered each day to your in-mail box.
To make it simple I’ve prepared a 2009 ‘To Do’ list for us all.
Enjoy,
George
Travel Warning. “For some reason,
people always pick me to take their
vacation photos. That is until they get
home and see they look a bit out of
George’s To Do focus.”
