ondon’s ‘alternative show’, the IGX, will
represent a cross-section of all of the products
for the ‘street market’, meaning that it will not
cater for the casino industry. The 30-plus
exhibitors at the Ibis Hotel, a short walk down Lillee
Road from the Earls Court Exhibition Centre, will
have a ‘captive’ audience.
The Ibis is a 500-bedroom hotel which
traditionally houses an almost exclusively coin
machine fraternity in exhibition week, January 26
to 30, 2009. The IGX will run from the 27th to
the 29th inclusive and will take up the Ballroom of
the hotel.
Everything from AWP machines to kiddie rides, novelties to
music/juke boxes, redemption to pool and associated support
services, will feature on the floor of the show. Some major
names from those sectors will also take their place at the Ibis,
including Harry Levy, Britain’s largest producer/distributor of
pusher and redemption games, and Bally Wulff Entertainment,
one of Germany’s top AWP producers.
That introduces an international element, which is backed by
other companies from outside of the UK, including Sacoa, the
Argentine-based supplier of cashless systems for arcades and
FECs.
“We know that there are some innovative products coming
through from some of these companies,” said Maggie Lynch,
show manager. “Bally Wulff, for example, may be a major
AWP producer for Germany and Spain, but we understand
that it will bring to the show a highly versatile automated
poker table which can be used in any kind of gaming or non-
