Embed installed in Kuwaiti children’s centre

MBED, a leading provider of Debit Card and Point of Sale Systems for the amusement and
family entertainment industry has installed the Embed System in Kuwait’s first Baroue
store located in the Avenues Mall. The brainchild of MS Retail, this 6,500 square metre location
is the first of its kind in Kuwait and is designed especially for children.
Baroue is a 100 percent Kuwaiti company focused on providing a venue unique to Kuwait – an
innovative, educational, fun and safe environment for kids. The main attraction is the Serpent
playground, which can accommodate up to 250 children. The Serpent playground is a parent-
free zone monitored by staff and managed with the wireless Embed Card System. Within the
Serpent playground is an upstairs game arcade, fitted with the latest Embed hardware. This
area features Embed’s trademark Color-Glo swipers on each of the 100+ games and attractions.
To manage children inside the Serpent playground, parents and children are issued their own
Embed swipe cards which are linked together. Parents can load value onto their card which can
then be accessed by their children through their linked swipe cards to play any of the games or
attractions in the arcade. At the time of collection, parents present their card to a staff member
who can then see which children belong to that parent.
Embed’s electronic ticketing system was also installed to handle all redemption game
payouts. Customers have the opportunity to redeem their electronic tickets in the Baroue retail
store for a wide variety of merchandise including toys and clothing.
This Baroue installation was a joint project between Embed and the LAI Group who provided
the games and technical assistance. MS Retail is set to open their next Baroue in Saudi Arabia
by next year with more projects throughout the Middle East still to come.
