SYMPOSIUM ENRICHES MULTISPORT ORGANIZERS
The annual USA Triathlon Race Director Symposium presented by ACTIVE Network, which features educational sessions and networking opportunities, hosted multisport event organizers from across th e country in Dallas on Jan. 20-22.


Held at the Fairmont Dallas Hotel, the three-day conference covered topics to help race directors grow and future-proof their businesses. Featured presenters included motivational speaker and coach Terri Schneider, Paralympian and veteran Melissa Stockwell and Team in Training Senior Vice President Bob Merrill.

ULTRA-DISTANCE NATIONALS MOVED T O OKC
USA Triathlon announced Dec. 14 that Oklahoma City has been selected as the new host city for the USA Triathlon Ultra-Distance National Championships, set for Sept. 16, 2017, at Lake Hefner. The race will take place in conjunction with the Redman Triathlon, home of the 2016 ITU Long Distance Triathlon World Championships.


Originally announced as being held in Sandusky, Ohio, USA Triathlon was forced to move the event due to unforeseen circumstances related to permitting.

PARATRIATHLON NATIONALS MOVE TO WISCONSIN
The 2017 USA Paratriathlon National Championships will take place June 25 in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, in conjunction with the Pleasant Prairie Triathlon.


National titles will be up for grabs in six sport classes (revised for 2017), and athletes will compete in a 750-meter swim, 20-kilometer bike, 5-kilometer run course at Prairie Springs Park and Lake Andrea.


Athletes may also qualify for the USA Paratriathlon Development Team Program, designed to identify and develop athletic potential leading toward the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.


 


 


 


 


OHIO TO HOST YOUTH & JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS THROUGH 2021
In an unprecedented five-year agreement, West Chester, Ohio, will host the USA Triathlon Youth & Junior National Championships at Voice of America Park through 2021.


West Chester first hosted rising youth and junior triathlon stars in 2012 and is a prime location for the National Championship event, with more than 20 of the 38 active High Performance Teams within a day’s drive of the venue. Youth & Junior Nationals is scheduled for Aug. 5-6.
