A 2025 analysis found the closed-loop AI systems kept blood sugars in range far better than standard methods, significantly reducing glycemic highs and lows. Patients put on AI-driven insulin pumps had better HbA1c control.

looked or never considered. Several AI-discovered drugs have

already entered clinical trials, most notably Rentosertib, a medication used to treat pulmonary fibrosis. The time it takes to find a new drug

molecule candidate is cut by up to 40%, slashing costs. Traditional drug discovery involves sifting

through tens of thousands of molecules to find one or two that might treat a disease. AI employs algorithms that enable it to predict which molec- ular structures will have a specific, desired effect. AI means patients and their doctors can get

the groundbreaking new medications they need a lot faster.

DIABETES AI algorithms are now being used to adjust insu- lin pump dosing automatically around the clock. A 2025 analysis found the closed-loop AI sys-

tems kept blood sugars in range far better than standard methods, significantly reducing glyce- mic highs and lows. Patients put on AI-driven insulin pumps had better HbA1c control. Another sign of progress in the blood sugar

battle that can save lives: continuous glucose monitors that enable users to continually track their blood sugar levels, giving them the precise, immediate feedback they need to make neces- sary lifestyle and dietary adjustments. The mon- itors require no prescription and only cost about $50 apiece. Some diseases are so rare that most special-

ists have never seen them. That was the experi- ence of Owen Tripp, the entrepreneur behind Included Health, an innovative healthcare com- pany that uses AI to provide personal healthcare advice and helps patients to get proper treat- ment they need from specialists. When Tripp’s hearing in one ear suddenly

began to fade, he was initially diagnosed with a routine Eustachian tube dysfunction. But then

he began to lose sensation in part of his face. Tripp’s condition ultimately turned out to be

a benign yet life-threatening brain tumor called a vestibular schwannoma. It only affects one in 100,000 people. After multiple consultations with several top

experts, Tripp opted for a 13-hour-long, robotic- aided surgery to excise the tumor from his brain- stem. The surgery was a success, and today he’s back to work at his company and sharing his story. Tripp’s experience testifies to the fact that

scans and radiology are often the first line of de- fense for doctors trying to diagnose an illness. But all too often, multiple doctors looking at

the same images see different things, causing critical delays and errors in treatment. That’s where AI comes in. Studies suggest several AI models already ap-

pear to be at least as accurate as human medical professionals in detecting anomalies in MRIs and other scans. In the case of melanomas, for example, there’s

evidence AI actually outperforms humans. AI can work faster and doesn’t need a lunch break — one reason hospitals increasingly deploy AI to help identify strokes or cancerous nodules that might otherwise be missed. Dr. Isaac Kohane, co-author of The AI Revolu-

tion in Medicine, has written, “How well does the AI perform clinically? My answer is, I’m stunned to say: Better than many doctors I’ve observed.” Crandall, the Palm Beach cardiologist who

carefully employs AI in his practice, says AI’s ability to empower doctors and their patients like never before is “a game changer.” “I tell people today that with AI, this is the

most exciting time of my life,” he says. “Because everything is possible. If we have a good knowl- edge base with AI we can do many things. This is a wonderful, exciting time with great oppor- tunity in all directions to help mankind, to heal them, to deliver them from darkness, and to im- pact humanity.”
