Trump issued an executive order calling for agencies to identify organizations, including colleges with endowments ex- ceeding $1 billion, for potential investiga- tions into their DEI programs. Foreign donations. In 2024, Gulf nations, including Qatar and Saudi Arabia, donated $13 billion to American universities, The Washington Free Beacon reported. Qatar, which is reportedly associated

with Hamas, has financed institutions such as Georgetown and Northwestern, where critics claim that specific programs encourage anti-Israel viewpoints. A 2024 House report revealed that

many universities, including Harvard and Yale, tend to underreport foreign donations, thus keeping substantial amounts concealed from public scrutiny. Furthermore, the White House

claimed that $60 billion in foreign gifts and contracts have been funneled into the nation’s universities over the past several decades, with only about 300 of the approximately 6,000 institutions self- reporting foreign money each year. In April, Trump signed an executive

order demanding that schools receiv- ing foreign funds open their books to the public. “For far too long, foreign funds have

flowed to U.S. colleges and universities with inadequate transparency or over- sight,” the Trump administration said in an April 23 executive order. “Undisclosed foreign funding raises

serious concerns about potential foreign influence, national security risks, and compromised academic integrity. This executive order reinstates robust enforce-

HARVARD NOT SO SECURE Trump vows to end tax exemption.

P

resident Donald Trump’s war on universities, targeting

“woke” excesses, antisemitism, and radical protests, has revealed cracks in Harvard’s gilded facade. With cuts to federal funding and a backlash against its leftist agenda, Harvard’s days of untouchable arrogance may be numbered.

In an April 16 post on Truth FOREIGN GIFTS

Social, Trump warned, “Everyone knows that Harvard has ‘lost its way.’ . . . Harvard has been hiring almost all woke, Radical Left, idiots and ‘birdbrains’ who are only capable of teaching FAILURE to students and so- called ‘future leaders.’ . . . Harvard is a JOKE, teaches Hate and Stupidity, and should no longer receive Federal Funds.” Trump has requested that

the Internal Revenue Service revoke Harvard’s tax-exempt status. If the IRS complies, it will

have significant repercussions for the university. The benefits of nonprofit

status include tax-free income from investments and tax deductions for donors, which Bloomberg estimated in 2023 to be worth over $465 million. According to reports, the

university is already feeling the crunch. In March, President Alan Garber wrote that Harvard will “implement a temporary pause on staff and faculty hiring,” among other austerity measures, in response to “substantial financial uncertainties driven by rapidly shifting federal policies.” Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., a

Harvard alum, told Newsmax that the school has become nearly unrecognizable and has swung so far out of the mainstream that “we are seeing parents and students voting with their feet.” — M.L.
