LEGACY MEDIA ONLY HAS ITSELF TO BLAME There was a time when the morning news shows on TV interviewed classical musicians, intellectuals, writers, religious leaders, etc. Now, all we get is popular culture feel-good fluff. Network executives figured out that serious news wasn’t as profitable as having their vacuous personalities fawning over actors, chefs, and other entertainers sharing their dubious, and usually progressive, “wisdom” with us. At the same time, the news that does get on air is so biased toward the left that it is a joke. Legacy/Big Media only has itself to blame for declining readership and viewership. BAD LESSON As a retired educator, I’m appalled by a Maine high school teacher’s social media posts that “Trump and his cronies need to die” and to “take out” those who support Trump. This teacher has no business influencing our children. She should be fired, prosecuted, and imprisoned. This is an example of the extreme rhetoric by the Democrats. PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH It’s telling that global leaders are more afraid of Donald Trump than any U.S. president in modern history. And frankly, that’s a good thing (“A World Afraid of Trump,” May). Trump isn’t afraid to draw a line in the sand and mean it — unlike the weak-kneed diplomacy of Joe Biden. When our enemies fear us, Americans are safer. That’s not warmongering, that’s deterrence.
