New Evidence Emerges From the Shroud of Turin
SHROUD OF TURIN REMAINS A MYSTERY Skeptics are still unable to explain how the image on the Shroud of Turin originated (“The Real Face of Jesus,” April). Analysis using modern scientifi c technology seems to deepen rather than solve this mystery. There’s still no solid explanation for how the image was formed, thus the Shroud’s mystery remains. Current scientifi c technology can’t prove the Shroud once covered the crucifi ed body of Christ or exclude the possibility that the body of another crucifi ed man in fi rst-century Judea produced the image.

For their own sakes, I pray any skeptical readers will want to learn more about “The Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.” Scripture from Hebrews 11:1 tells us, “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”

Thank you for a detailed update on the Shroud. I’m elated that in God’s timing, He equips us with the technology, scientists, and scholars in my lifetime to see and believe. pearl dees mohnkern Phoenix, Ariz.
DEFUND LIBRARIES After reading “Main Street Goes Woke,” March, about Kirk Cameron and the various libraries hosting drag queen story hours for young children, I ask: “What are people thinking?” I suggest these libraries be defunded. The vote is a powerful tool to use to that end. To quote Kirk: “Parents and grandparents, suit up!” jerry and linda neff Salem, Ore.
MASKING TRUTH Your story “Masks Make No Diff erence,” April, is exactly why so many subscribe to Newsmax. Yours is a rational voice, not tethered to widespread mass hysteria. On COVID-19, the liberal media’s all-

out panic campaign resulted in the permanent closure of small to medium-size businesses and the near total destruction of America’s social fabric. As a result, the education of our youth was nearly obliterated; church and synagogue attendance was greatly, if not permanently, impacted. Keep up the great work Newsmax — cutting through the left’s static. berenson wixell Chicago, Ill.
TELL TRUTH As the author of a book, Social Security: The Great Ponzi Scheme, I can tell you I’ve been more than deeply concerned about Congress failing to be truthful with the American people about the fi nancial state of our nation’s Social Security system. For one thing, as I write in my book, the federal government shifts monies from Social Security and replaces it with government bonds. Social Security is not going broke. Let’s start leveling with the American people — that’s directed at you Washington, D.C., in case you’re listening. (“Rising Interest Rates Threaten Fed Solvency,” November 2022)

TOUGHEN UP We’ve lost sight of the fact that freedom is always worth fi ghting for. We better bone up and get much
tougher. That means not being a doormat to be walked on, which is the way America, domestically and globally, is being treated right now. Dig out of this hole before we’re collectively swallowed by it. (“We Must Choose Resolute Leaders,” April)

VOTE FOR UNITY If Republicans want to fi ght amongst themselves about who should get the presidential nomination for 2024, go ahead. Make jokes, dredge up candidates’ skeletons, and debate enthusiastically. It’s all good. But remember, when it’s all over, please, please support the guy who wins, even if you didn’t advocate and vote for that candidate in the primaries. Remember, that’s what Democrats usually do; it’s arguably the one thing they actually do right. If we go into the general election divided, we’re guaranteed to lose, and lose big. SELFISH TALK Some women in our world today are very selfi sh. Do women have choices? What choice does the baby have? The way people write and talk about abortion, you’d think it had been
