DEI DEVOURS HIGHER ED Diversity programs on campus may have started with good intentions, but now they’re just bureaucratic machines gobbling up budgets and silencing dissent. (“DEI on Campus,” December 2025) Real diversity should include viewpoint diversity. Until then, these “inclusion” offices are doing more harm than good. anika l. moore Spokane, Wash.
TRUST DOCTOR, NOT BOT I work in healthcare, and while artificial intelligence has its place, it should never replace human experience. (“AI Is Changing How Doctors Diagnose You,” December 2025) A machine can spot patterns, but it can’t comfort a scared patient. Patients want people, not algorithms. brian b. lambert, m.d. Chicago, Ill.
FOOD HEALS My grandmother cured half our family’s ills with soup, garlic, and prayer — and she was right. (“The Healing Power of Food,” December 2025) Today, we’re overmedicated and undernourished. This story gave me hope that we’re finally waking up.

“The Healing Power of Food” should be required reading at the FDA. We need fewer prescriptions and more prevention. Doctors should be writing grocery lists, not just pill bottles. devon p. myles Buffalo, N.Y.
SMART SCAMMERS My son was almost tricked by a fake iCloud caller. (“The Newest Tech Scams,” December 2025) Big Tech isn’t doing enough to stop these con artists, and law enforcement can’t keep up. We need tougher rules and public awareness.
mark s. engle Levittown, N.Y.
STATINS DESERVE FRESH LOOK Statins get a bad rap from internet fearmongers and misinformed relatives. That’s why I was grateful for Chris Iliades’ clear-eyed, fact- based explanation of how these drugs work and when they should be used. (“Lifestyle Change vs. Statin,” December 2025) Many Americans walk around with dangerously high LDL, gambling with strokes and heart attacks while trying fad diets or miracle supplements. The truth is, lifestyle changes are wonderful — but they aren’t always enough.
