Cutting-Edge, Integrative Cancer Therapies for Animals

ages, The Bubonic Plague took millions of lives in Europe. It has been said that during the height of the plague that the poor died of the plague while the rich died of many of the ineffective remedies employed like blood- letting and lead elixirs thought to combat the disease. In other words, the rich paid to die

faster from those presumed therapies. Some say the same is true of the ongoing cancer pandemic. Many doctors rush to cut tumors out prior to any form of antigenic or immunologic stimulation and may be inadvertently accelerating the spread of metastatic disease, according to some authors. It has been shown that many primary tumors can spread thousands of cells per day throughout the body which lie in place dormant because they receive an inhibitory signal from the primary tumor—a signal not to grow due to an Raf alpha-1 inhibitory protein and others. In this model, for many types of cancer, the idea of rushing to cut the tumors out, without fi rst activating an immune response against the primary tumor and her micro-metastatic daughters, could potentially accelerate the development of metastatic disease! Recently there is a rise in employing immunotherapy techniques as well as the idea of turning conventional oncology on its head and treating patients with Chemotherapy and Ionizing Radiation in reverse, prior to tumor removal. These techniques have shown promise in improving

overall survival times as they stimulate an antigenic tumor response against the tumors and her daughter cells prior to removal. As Alternative and Integrative Medical Practitioners, we are faced daily with clients who are opposed to the use of conventional chemotherapy, ionizing radiation therapy or some of the potentially life- threatening side effects of the new immunotherapies using the Monoclonal antibodies produced in the lab. So, What Is An Alternative? You may have heard of people going to Europe and Mexico to treat their cancer using Hyperthermia. Why? The United States has been very slow to adopt Hyperthermia Therapy in medicine even though there is abundant evidence that this therapy is effective. This paper is not about why it has not been adopted (I suspect greed is at its base); this paper is about how we, as Alternative Veterinarians, use Hyperthermia as an effective tool to fi ght cancer by turning the immune system against the cancer itself. New advances in Ultra High Frequency Resonant
Therapy (UHFRT) allow us to control a local regional fever over the active tumor site while we give drugs that slowly kill the tumor over a 1–3-month period prior to tumor removal if/as needed. We say “if needed” because there have been cases where the tumor was completely shrunk by the immune system leaving nothing to remove. Most of the time a dying tumor is removed after a 1–3-month period. The idea is again to wait to remove the tumor until after it begins to slowly die. The emphasis is on SLOWLY. It is a slowly dying tumor that releases Tissue Necrotic Factor Alpha TNF alpha, which can coax the dendritic cells (immune cells in the skin) to produce a P-53 Protein, which acts like a cancer vaccine. Cancer cells that are tagged with this P-53 Protein are fl agged for removal by the immune
