A most estimable two-header show here from this Ceredigion gallery, featuring two Welsh artists who are members of the Royal Cambrian Academy. Ian Phillips [pictured] lives in Aberystwyth, with a studio a little further up the coast in Tywyn, and with this in mind it’s unsurprising that many of his linocut and woodcut print work, visibly influenced by the classical Japanese style, depicts dramatic seascapes and imposing cliff faces. Carl Chapple, resident in south Wales, is a portrait painter who currently works in-house with Ballet Cymru, rendering their dancers’ graceful movements via elegant brushstrokes.
