ROYAL WELSH SHOW You don’t need a career-based or other- wise vested interest in the world of farm- ing to enjoy the Royal Welsh Show, in its usual place on its usual four-day weekend and set to attract thousands of people to one of the flagship events in the UK ag- ricultural calendar. Livestock and equine competitions meet displays of forestry and horticulture from mid-morning to bedtime each day.

PARTY AT THE PARK The park is Tredegar in Newport – first of three big events here this weekend, with Colour Clash and a Festival Of Comedy following – and the party is poptastic, and not a little nostalgic.
