T e partners are proud of the fact that from the current headcount
in Hawsons’ Northampton offi ce, two thirds of the team have either gone through or are currently going through professional training with the fi rm. T e four Corporate Services Managers in the offi ce; Will Amos, James
Robinson, Emily Ball and Rhiannon Mistry, all trained with Hawsons. T e fi rm off ers training plans to meet individual requirements. As an example, Gareth Davies joined Hawsons in 2012 straight from school, commencing his AAT training. Once complete, Gareth took up an ACA training contract with the fi rm and qualifi ed as a chartered accountant in 2019. Gareth then moved into the specialist tax team where again continued training and development is vital in order to stay on top of ever-changing legislation. T is month, the fi rm welcomes two new trainees, Polly Clark and
Amparo Carrion, who have both started three-year chartered account- ancy training contracts. David Owens, local training partner said: “T e contracts we off er allow young people to join a working environment with on-the-job training, which I believe is the most eff ective way of learning. Gaining experience whilst absorbing the work allows the new starters to pro- gress confi dently with support from colleagues in the offi ce. “I am confi dent that our trainees will grow and develop in their work
with Hawsons with swift progression. By investing our time and using our experience as chartered accountants to teach young people and help them learn and grow, not only do we support the fi rm’s commitment
ALL THINGS BUSINESS
to training but we also enhance the trainees’ career opportunities.” With more remote working due to current re-
strictions, the fi rm is ensuring that there is contin- ued regular engagement with colleagues to ensure that the quality of training is maintained. New trainee, Polly Clark said, “I completed some
work experience with Hawsons in the summer of 2019 and thoroughly enjoyed it. T is helped me to decide to pursue a career in the profession and take up a training contract with the fi rm. I started my training in September and over the past few weeks I have settled in the offi ce.” Amparo Carrion added: “I have only been with
Hawsons for just over a month and have been made to feel at ease, comfortable and I am pleased with how far I have come in such little time.” Hawsons invest a great deal in recruitment
and training which gives the best opportuni- ty to carve out career paths in many different specialist areas.
