FPA member networking day


More than 40 members registered and attended our final networking day of the year, at the Southampton Solent University on 4 October. The programme was wide ranging and varied, but all the talks were very topical, with presentations covering security; terrorism; detection systems; construction site safety; and fire engineering and enforcement post Grenfell. Speakers included Tim Gates, fire


engineering and technical manger at Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service; Paul Pope, head of system integration and support at Apollo Fire; and Cyrille Rouzier, property account engineer at AIG. The feedback from delegates was


incredibly positive, and we’re thankful for all the speakers who gave up their time to present, as well as our members for supporting the event. These sessions are extremely important


for us, and they help the FPA to make itself more accessible at locations up and down the country. We are grateful for the support from local fire authorities, which always provide excellent speakers and accommodate us on our travels, and to our local members who help to make our organisation worthwhile. Dates and venues for our 2019 networking events have now been confirmed, and we


look forward to seeing you at one of the locations below: 14 March – Cambridge 20 June – Leeds 23 September – Birmingham
