The gardens date from the early 17th century, when Robert Cecil commissioned John Tradescant the Elder to collect plants for his new home. Tradescant travelled all over Europe to bring back trees, bulbs, plants and fruit trees not previously grown in England, and the craft inspiring gardens are now open for visitors to explore. With miles of parkland to be discovered, visitors can now upgrade their Garden, Park and Woodland Walks day ticket to a 2019 Season Ticket at no extra charge, making Hatfield Park the perfect location to spend a day with family and friends. Whether you chose to take a moment to relax on the historic Queen Elizabeth Oakfield or take in the idyllic surroundings by the Broad Water River, you will always have a

picnic destination at Hatfield Park this summer. Lord and Lady Salisbury’s private East Garden is also open to visi- tors each Wednesday from 11am- 5pm. This part of the Garden has elegant parterres, topiary and rare plants and are a delight for the gardening enthusiast and for those wishing to spend a quiet time in peaceful surroundings.
