Covering the major dairy farming areas from Central Scotland down the UK to Cornwall, NWF manufactures and supplies ruminant compound feeds and blends. This is supported by a comprehensive Trading Desk supplying a range of straights and speciality feeds, forage seeds and additives. The business has five production sites manufacturing dairy,


beef and sheep feeds, strategically located in Cumbria, Lancashire, Cheshire & Devon. Starting as the Cheshire Farmers Supply Association Ltd on the


5th June 1871, the company quickly grew; it became a cooperative 47 years later in 1918, expanding its capital base and incentivising members to trade with the cooperative. The cooperative continued to grow within Cheshire and the


surrounding counties, initiating a merger between the Cheshire, Shropshire & North Wales Farmers Supply Association and the Chester Farmers in 1958. The cooperative become the now well-known, North Western Farmers Ltd. The Wardle Mill site at Nantwich officially opened in 1980 as


the largest specialist ruminant feed mill in the UK. Continuing to produce and manufacture ruminant feeds, North Western Farmers Ltd

Anniversary


National ruminant manufacturer NWF Agriculture marked its 150th year supporting and working with British farmers in June. The NWF Group is a specialist agricultural, distribution and fuels business delivering feed, food and fuel across the UK, headquartered in Nantwich, Cheshire.
