BARRATT HOMES in South Wales is showing its support for school football in Cardiff - by sponsoring Ysgol Plasmawr U14s. Having won the Welsh schools football cup in Year 8, the team recently represented Wales in the British schools championship in Glasgow - and the housebuilder stepped in to make sure the young players looked the part. “We had to raise funds - firstly to compete in the competition but also so the players looked professional,” said Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Plasmawr teacher Iwan Rowlands. “We’re very grateful to Barratt Homes for providing tracksuits for the boys to travel in. Tey certainly looked smart and were easily identifiable in busy places. “Te football itself was an excellent experience for the players. We had a mix of results but finished with a comfortable win against Northern Ireland - with some great goals!”
