Cardiff businesses get fi rst look at new brand, FOR Cardiff

Cardiff BID has revealed a new look

and brand, FOR Cardiff,

at an exclusive event for local businesses and stakeholders. Re- imagined to give a clear message that the organisation is doing great things for the Welsh capital, FOR Cardiff is making sure its name is representative of its purpose. Businesses from across Cardiff were given the fi rst look at the new brand during an exclusive drinks and canapes reception at the Park Plaza Hotel, held to mark a successful fi rst year. FOR Cardiff still has exactly the same aims as the BID used to - working to make Cardiff more welcoming, vibrant and infl uential. Projects they have invested in over the past year include recruiting a team of Street Ambassadors to solve business issues and help tourists, a deep cleaning initiative that will roll out across the city

T e guide was released by Screwfi x in conjunction with the Minister for Skills and Science in response to research revealing that tradespeople want an increase in the availability

T e easy-to-use, free information source is designed to expose many of the myths surrounding apprenticeships. As a pocket-sized guide, it includes everything those in the trade need to know in bite-size chunks – from

Screwfi x Partners with the Welsh Government to help Tradespeople hire apprentices

the benefi ts of taking on an apprentice, to where to go fi rst and the help available. Screwfi x released the guide in response to feedback from its trade customers. Many of the plumbers, electricians, builders, carpenters and other tradespeople questioned by the Screwfi x poll have little or no experience of taking on apprentices, with only 34% saying they have ever employed an apprentice. Graham Smith, Marketing Director of Screwfi x, comments: “As a key supplier to the trade, we’re always looking for ways to support tradespeople in growing their businesses. We know how busy our customers are and from their feedback, we also know that they struggle to recruit skilled tradesmen and women. It was very clear that something needed to be done to help, which is why we have developed this guide and we’re excited to launch it in Wales.”
