Moisturising should be a core part of any man’s daily skincare routine

SKIN CARE BASICS

Step 1: Facial cleanser Protect you skin’s natural

protective layer, use a specific facial cleanser that contains moisturising ingredients, but

still has a dose of salicylic acid (and maybe even witch hazel) to gently control oil.

Step 2: Exfoliate with a face scrub

W

hat is moisturiser and why do I need it? Yes, this is directed at you boys! A

moisturiser should be the first tool in your arsenal for avoiding dry and tired skin. When combined with a good face wash it helps to rehydrate your skin’s outer layers so you look your best around the clock even when you’re busting out the overtime and working in harsh conditions.

Although not just limited to your face, you should moisturise all the areas that are exposed to the elements. As an added bonus if you use one with SPF protection you will avoid extra damage from the sun.

It’s recommended to moisturise twice a day, once in the morning and once before bed. This should be part of everyone’s daily routine. To wash away the day’s hard work, we also recommend using a mild cleanser before applying the nightly moisturisers.

Things will differ depending on your skin type and also the time of year, but if you get this routine sorted, you’ll notice the difference in no time at all.

For you boys looking to retain a youthful complexion, it might be worth looking at a nice exfoliator, this will help remove the dirt, eliminate deadheads and remove dead skin cells. But, if you’re feeling your age and are not getting enough sleep, then you could also try a more targeted eye serum product in these delicate areas. Or if you’re looking to get in touch with your feline side, slap on a face mask.

Thanks to the sheer volume of product options thrown at us across multiple media channels, skincare can be daunting at best and confusing at worst. Maybe that’s why many guys have no skincare routine to speak of—they don’t want to put in the effort to figure it out. Or maybe they just don’t care. Well boys, you should care!

Exfoliation is the process of removing dead skin cells. Under ideal circumstances, your skin is able to get rid of the cells on its own, but sometimes, it needs a little help. Once a week is good.

Step 3: Eye cream

Eye cream is the Swiss army knife of a man’s skin care routine: it’s a simple tool that

can fix a whole lot of problems. Dark circles? It can help get rid of them. Puffy bags from

a rager late night? It can send those packing. Starting to see wrinkles and fine lines? Eye cream can keep you looking fresh. Use morning and night.

Step 4: Moisturiser Finding a moisturiser you can TAKE TIME N

o one wants to hear the comment “Wow you look

tired!” A simple but regular skin care routine can make the world of difference to your face in quite a short time. You’ll be surprised at how a quick 5 to 10 minutes in the morning and before bed will make in terms of soothing the lines under your eyes and simply brightening up your skin tone.

It’s not just about washing your face with soap but, it will take just a little bit of commitment and very soon you’ll not even notice this as part of your morning and bed time routine. It may take a little time to find the right products for your skin type, but persevere and both you and your friends will see the difference in a very short space of time.

Be aware of the time of year, as you might need to change products during the hot summer months or even if you are in very cold conditions.

But do a little research, ask your friends, do some testing and get going boys, you’ll never look back. Sit back relax and just wait for those compliments to flood in.

tolerate is easy and at the very least, will keep your skin from feeling dry, and at the most, help it maintain moisture.

Maybe look for words like lotion or gel instead of cream if you want something light.

Step 5: SPF You should be wearing

sunscreen every day. Seriously boys! Daily sunscreen is the most effective anti-aging

product we have. But if you’re not keen on all these lotions,

look for a moisturiser with SPF within it.
