EXECUTIVE POST

Yanmar to appoint new construction equipment dealer network

Yanmar Construction Equipment Europe (CEE) has mutually agreed not to renew its long-term UK and Ireland distribution contract with A&Y Equipment Ltd. The manufacturer, whose products include excavators, loaders and carriers, says it will appoint a new national

dealer network and that a rejuvenated focus on the UK and Ireland market complements its acquisition two years ago of Terex Compact Germany GmbH. Andreas Hactergal, Sales and Marketing director at Yanmar CEE, said, “The UK and Ireland

construction market is a key area of strategic focus for us. Over the coming weeks, we’re looking forward to announcing an all-new network of UK and Ireland dealers and significantly expanding our national coverage.”

Racing to another success

For those who might be interested in former EHN Publisher Robert Aplin’s current activities, we can report on a particularly noteworthy achievement arising out of his enthusiastic involvement in horse racing. Not only did his horse Bestwork win

the feature Worcester Grand Annual Handicap Chase at Worcester Racecourse on 4 July, at odds of 22/1, but the Princess Royal was also in attendance to mark the course’s 300th anniversary. Her Royal Highness presented trophies to Robert, shown second from right, with, from left,

course Executive Director Jenny Cheshire, Mairi Martin and David Martin of race sponsor Arctic Spas, jockey Jonathan Burke and trainer Charlie Longsdon.

Dear Sir

Having read the Forum page in the July/August 2018 issue regarding the forthcoming Stage V emission regulations, I found it to be an excellent article laying out the facts. However, this article was

geared towards diesel engines and there are other options available. LPG powered engines offer a real alternative. Their emissions have greatly reduced CO and NOx levels and the fuel is readily supplied through the hire industry. Demon International have

always been innovative in looking forward and have, over the last two years, brought a range of Honda LPG-powered pressure washers to market. We are now looking to see how the regulations in January 2019 affect the hire industry.

Regards

David Walke Director Demon International Ltd
